Elsje Fowler, Founder and Director

Elsje Fowler has dedicated more than 20 years to the field of education, with over a decade focused on educational leadership and school management. 

Throughout her career, she has remained passionate about creating learning environments where children can thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

As the founder of Fowler House, Elsje is deeply committed to progressive, child-centred education that nurtures curiosity, creativity and a lifelong love of learning. She believes that education should do more than prepare children for examinations; it should equip them with the confidence, resilience and critical thinking skills needed to navigate an ever-changing world.

Her educational philosophy is rooted in the understanding that children learn best when they feel safe, connected and valued. By fostering environments built on respect, meaningful relationships and high expectations, she aims to create schools where every child feels seen, supported and empowered to reach their full potential.

Elsje is particularly passionate about developing independent thinkers, creative problem-solvers and compassionate young people who are equipped not only for academic success, but for life beyond the classroom. This vision continues to guide the growth of Fowler House, from its Montessori foundations through to its Primary School and the launch of Fowler House International High School.

Willesia Dorfling, Principal

Willesia Dorfling holds a Master's degree  and brings more than a decade of teaching and leadership experience to Fowler House. She is deeply committed to seeing each child as a unique individual and believes that education should nurture the whole child — academically, socially and emotionally.


Known for her warmth, compassion and dedication, Willesia works closely with learners, families and staff to create a supportive environment where children feel valued, encouraged and empowered to grow.

She is passionate about providing high-quality education that meets the evolving needs of Namibian families while preparing young people for a rapidly changing world. Her vision is to help create opportunities for every child by fostering confidence, resilience, curiosity and a genuine love of learning.


As Principal, Willesia is committed to maintaining the high standards, strong relationships and child-centred culture that have become hallmarks of Fowler House. She believes that when children are supported, challenged and inspired, they are capable of achieving extraordinary things.

Lucille Miglietti, Financial Administration Manager

Lucille Miglietti, Financial Administration Manager

Lucille brings decades of experience in finance, human resources, administration and legal support to the Fowler House team. 


Her wealth of knowledge, professionalism and attention to detail help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the school.


Known for her warm and welcoming nature, Lucille is often one of the first points of contact for families and is dedicated to providing friendly, efficient support to both parents and staff.


She is deeply committed to the values and vision of Fowler House and believes in creating a school environment where children, families and educators feel respected, supported and valued. 


Her dedication behind the scenes plays an important role in helping Fowler House maintain the high standards and strong sense of community for which it is known.

Kirstin Marshall, Teacher

Lucille Miglietti, Financial Administration Manager

Kirstin is a qualified Elementary and Montessori educator with a passion for creating classrooms where children feel a strong sense of belonging, connection and community.


She is dedicated to nurturing each child's natural curiosity, love of discovery and enthusiasm for learning. Through engaging, hands-on learning experiences, Kirstin encourages learners to think independently, ask questions and approach challenges with confidence and creativity.


Known for her warm and supportive approach, she helps children develop strong foundations in critical thinking, problem-solving and self-confidence while fostering the independence and responsibility that are central to the Fowler House philosophy.


Kirstin believes that when children feel safe, valued and inspired, they are able to reach their full potential both academically and personally.

Evelyne Figueira, Teacher

Evelyne, or Teacher Vonne as all the children call her,  joined Fowler House in 2020 and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our Montessori programme. 

With many years of teaching experience, she is passionate about supporting young children during their most important developmental years and helping them build strong foundations for future learning.

Known for her warm, nurturing nature, Evelyne forms meaningful connections with her learners and creates an environment where children feel safe, valued and encouraged to explore the world around them. Her classroom is filled with opportunities for discovery, independence and joyful learning.


Children are naturally drawn to Evelyne's gentle and playful spirit, and it is not uncommon to find her laughing, playing and sharing special moments with them outside the classroom. Her genuine love for children and dedication to their wellbeing make her a valued member of the Fowler House community.

Evelyne believes that every child has unique strengths and potential, and she is committed to helping each learner grow in confidence, independence and a lifelong love of learning.

Desiree Cloete, Teacher

Desiree is a warm, welcoming and highly experienced Montessori educator with more than 18 years of teaching experience, much of which has been gained internationally. 


Her broad experience and deep understanding of child development allow her to create enriching learning environments where children feel supported, encouraged and inspired to grow.

Known for her kindness, creativity and enthusiasm, Desiree brings learning to life through engaging experiences that spark curiosity and imagination. 


She has a special gift for making children feel valued and capable, helping them develop confidence, independence and a love of learning.

The children adore Desiree for her gentle nature, playful spirit and genuine interest in their lives. Her classroom is a place where creativity flourishes, relationships are nurtured and every child is encouraged to reach their full potential.


Desiree is passionate about fostering a lifelong love of learning and believes that the most meaningful education happens when children feel safe, connected and excited to explore the world around them.

Pauline Honore Blom, Teacher

Pauline is a qualified Montessori educator with many years of teaching experience and a long-standing connection to the Fowler House community. Fluent in both French and English, she brings a unique international perspective to the classroom, enriching the learning experience for both children and families.


Known for her warmth, creativity and gentle guidance, Pauline creates nurturing environments where children feel secure, confident and inspired to explore. She has a deep appreciation for the wonder of childhood and is passionate about fostering curiosity, independence and a lifelong love of learning.


Pauline's calm presence, wisdom and dedication help children develop not only academically, but also socially and emotionally. She believes that every child deserves to be seen, valued and encouraged to grow into the best version of themselves.


Her commitment to Montessori principles and her genuine love for working with children make her a valued and cherished member of the Fowler House team.

Marleece Barth-Philander, Teacher

Marleece is a passionate Elementary and Montessori-trained educator who brings enthusiasm, kindness and dedication to every aspect of her work. She is deeply committed to supporting children in their learning journey and helping them develop confidence, independence and a love of learning.


Known for her gentle nature and positive energy, Marleece creates a warm and encouraging classroom environment where children feel safe to explore, ask questions and grow. She believes that meaningful relationships form the foundation of successful learning and strives to ensure that every child feels valued, supported and capable.


Marleece is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and takes great joy in celebrating their progress, achievements and unique strengths. Her caring approach and genuine love for teaching help inspire learners to reach their full potential both academically and personally.

Lihané Nel, Teacher

Lihané holds an Honours Degree in Early Childhood Education and is passionate about supporting children during the formative years of their development. She is dedicated to creating nurturing, engaging and inspiring learning environments where children feel safe, valued and encouraged to explore their full potential.


Lihané believes in empowering children to become confident, independent and capable individuals who approach learning with curiosity and enthusiasm. 

Through meaningful relationships, thoughtful guidance and engaging learning experiences, she helps learners develop the skills, resilience and self-belief needed to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.


Her warm and supportive approach, combined with her strong educational background, allows her to foster a love of learning while helping each child grow academically, socially and emotionally.

Lihané is committed to nurturing curious minds, building confidence and laying strong foundations that will support lifelong learning and future success.

Riënda is a dedicated and passionate Foundation Phase educator with more than six years of teaching experience. She is committed to creating a supportive, engaging and nurturing learning environment where young children feel confident, valued and inspired to learn.


With a strong understanding of early childhood development, Riënda strives to provide meaningful learning experiences that encourage academic growth while also nurturing creativity, curiosity and social-emotional development. She believes that children learn best when they feel safe, supported and excited to participate in the learning process.


Known for her caring nature and enthusiasm for education, Riënda works to ensure that each child is encouraged to develop confidence, independence and a positive attitude towards learning. Her classroom is a place where learners are challenged, celebrated and supported as they grow.


Riënda is passionate about helping children build strong foundations for future success while fostering a lifelong love of learning.

Nazleen is a dedicated Teacher in Training whose gentle, nurturing nature makes her a much-loved member of the Fowler House team. She works closely with our youngest learners, providing support, encouragement and care as they explore, learn and grow.


Children are naturally drawn to Nazleen's calm and caring presence. Her patience, warmth and genuine affection for the little ones help create an environment where children feel safe, secure and confident to engage with the world around them.


Alongside her practical experience at Fowler House, Nazleen is pursuing her teaching qualification and is committed to developing her skills as an educator. She is passionate about supporting children's development and helping to lay strong foundations for their future learning journey.


Nazleen's kindness, dedication and love for working with young children make her a valued part of the Fowler House family, and the children absolutely adore her.

Grace joined Fowler House in 2018 and has become a valued and much-loved member of our school community. 


As an Assistant Teacher, she brings warmth, patience and genuine care to her work with young children, helping to create a nurturing environment where learners feel safe, supported and encouraged.


The children adore Grace for her kind nature, gentle guidance and willingness to always lend a helping hand. She plays an important role in supporting both learners and teachers throughout the school day, ensuring that every child feels seen and cared for.


Alongside her work at Fowler House, Grace is currently pursuing her teaching qualification, further developing her knowledge and skills as an educator. Her commitment to professional growth reflects her passion for education and her dedication to making a positive difference in the lives of children.

Brighitte is one of our dedicated Pre-Primary Assistants and a valued member of the Fowler House team. Known for her warm smile, caring nature and willingness to help wherever needed, she plays an important role in creating a nurturing and supportive environment for our youngest learners.


Children naturally gravitate towards Brighitte and feel safe, comfortable and cared for in her presence. Her gentle approach, patience and genuine affection for children help foster a sense of security and belonging within the classroom.


Alongside her work at Fowler House, Brighitte is currently pursuing her education qualification, demonstrating her commitment to professional growth and her passion for working with children. She is dedicated to developing her skills as an educator and making a meaningful difference in the lives of the learners she supports.


Brighitte's kindness, enthusiasm and dedication make her a treasured part of the Fowler House family.

Isak Oxorub, Grounds Manager

Isak is our dedicated Grounds Manager and an invaluable member of the Fowler House team. He takes great pride in caring for and maintaining the beautiful environment that our children enjoy every day, helping to create a safe, welcoming and well-maintained space for learning, play and exploration.


Known for his hardworking nature, reliability and willingness to help wherever needed, Isak approaches every task with care and dedication. His quiet kindness and positive attitude have made him a much-loved presence within the school community.


Whether tending to the gardens, maintaining the grounds or lending a helping hand, Isak plays an important role in ensuring that Fowler House remains a place where children can thrive. His commitment, humility and genuine care for the school make him one of those special people who help create the warm and supportive atmosphere that families value so highly.
